About this project
In 2018, AdventHealth Shawnee Mission unveiled its cutting-edge hybrid operating room—the largest of its kind in the Kansas City region at 3,550 square feet. Designed by Pulse Design Group and built by United Excel, the space integrates advanced imaging technology with surgical capabilities, enabling multidisciplinary teams to perform complex procedures like TAVR and cardiac catheterizations without relocating the patient. This integration improves efficiency, reduces risk, and enhances patient outcomes by allowing real-time collaboration between specialties.
HYBRID OPERATING ROOM
Shield partnered with Pulse Design Group to design medical storage for the state-of-the-art OR. The storage included three catheter cabinets as well as an integration cabinet. Additionally, Shield manufactured a documentation station as well as casework within the OR.
Outside of the OR, Shield manufactured casework and countertops for various adjacent workrooms, such as the control room, biomed workroom, sub-sterile, and tee probe.
A solid surface product in healthcare is gold because you can wipe it down with any of the solutions they use and we introduce a lot of projects and clients to solid surface products because they just never thought there was anything like it.
