SHIELD x Lawrence Memorial Hospital

In late 2021 Lawrence Memorial Hospital was looking to renovate their inpatient pharmacy with modern casework and storage. While searching for the perfect fit, Shield was brought in as a strong contender with 100% acrylic solid surface fabrication as well as design builds for pass-through cabinets that would fit perfectly within the goals of the project.

In a collaborative effort with Pulse Design Group, the scope of the project was finalized and included casework, countertops and pass-through cabinets all crafted from solid surface. With the solid surface finish; cleanability, durability and microbial resistance were all elements that could be prioritized while still maintaining a sleek appearance.

Pharmacy Renovation

The main goal of the pharmacy renovation was to make the space more comfortable for patients while also increasing the functionality of storage for hospital staff. The scope of the project covered increased storage with casework and pass-through cabinets as well as brand new countertops that would be easily cleanable.

Within a pharmacy it is critical that items, supplies and medications can be stored in a way that is both quick to access and not cluttered. With the pass-through cabinets in specific, they allow for staff to access items quickly and have an efficient system to seamlessly get what they need and provide it to the patient.

While maintaining the flow of the healthcare facility, LMH also wanted to be sure that aesthetics were kept as a top priority. With seamless edges and construction as well as a non-porous surface, having furniture that is crafted from solid surface allows for your space to look modern and appealing to patients while also having strong functionality for staff.
