Shield Casework at the Healthcare Design Conference + Expo 2025
Last month, Shield Casework was proud to take part in the Healthcare Design Conference + Expo—hosted right here in our backyard of Kansas City. The annual event brought together thousands of healthcare design professionals, architects, and manufacturers to explore the latest innovations shaping the future of healthcare environments.
As an exhibitor in the Expo Hall, Shield showcased our latest behavioral health patient room solutions, designed to bring safety, durability, and modern aesthetics together in one seamless package. Our team connected with healthcare designers, facility managers, and architects who share our passion for improving the healing experience through smarter, safer design.

One of the highlights of the week came during the project tour of The University of Kansas Health System’s Emergency Department renovation, led by Pulse Design Group. Attendees got an up-close look at Shield’s Nurse Server Supply Cabinets, which were featured throughout the updated space. These integrated storage solutions help streamline staff workflows while maintaining a clean, patient-centered environment—perfectly aligning with the project’s goals of efficiency and compassionate care.
We’re honored to have been part of a project that represents the best of healthcare design innovation, right in our own backyard.

Thank you to everyone who stopped by our booth or joined the KU Health System site tour. We’re already looking forward to next year’s HCD Expo and to continuing the conversation around how Shield Casework can help design safer, smarter spaces for healthcare professionals and the patients they serve.
