Shield headwalls are designed with versatility and simplicity in mind. From the customizable panel system to the integrated med gas arrangement, we've refined our system down to a science.

PRODUCT SPECIFICATIONS

  • Outboard headwall system with modular demountable solid surface panel design.

  • Solid surface panel system to be made of ½” acrylic solid surface. SHIELD standard base solid surface material color options available, customizable upon request.

  • 5” depth typical for both.

  • 8-10” AFF base typical.

  • 114” AFF termination of pre-installed services typical. Can vary by floor type and location of supply lines. 18” AFC Typical.

  • 108” AFF ceiling height typical.

  • Optional overbed canopy options include 5” reveal typical, width to match wall mounted subframe, 80” length typical.

  • ACT ceiling to finish flush with recessed border.

  • Panel system layout and dimensions planned to accommodate services layout and room/bed clearance requirements.
  • All panel joints include lap joint construction to prevent water damage from cleaning routines.

  • Medical gas outlets, latch valves, and cover plates included using type K rigid copper piping and brazed connections. Unit to come preassembled with risers. Final installation of all medical gas supply lines above the ceiling by trades.

  • Electrical backboxes and conduit risers pre-installed in the subframe as necessary. Data and low voltage equipment provisions include pre-installed backbox. Final installation of all rigid conduit electrical wiring and all outlet/equipment connections to be made by trades or owner.

  • Services available in flexible gang up or fixed, pre-fabricated locations.

  • Flexible equipment rails and hardware mounts available.

  • Integrated border and accent lighting available.

  • SD/DD Design and ROM budgeting support.

  • Division 10 25 13 – Patient Room Headwall product specification support.
